Assembly control via OCR*
* Optical Character Recognition
In a measuring cabin the system inspects the correct printing on the keys of a car radio cover using 4 cameras, 2 light sources and accordingly selected optical filters. The existence of the printing and the proper printing itself is inspected, as well as the illumination of each key. Using the type label, the front cover can be identified and the appropriate data set for the used keys is called in automatically.
The host-computer receives the type designation read through a serial interface.
The components are transported through the test station on a moving workpiece carrier and presented to the cameras.
Measuring methods:
- OCR (4 different fonts)
- pattern matching
- test windows
The inspection methods for the single cameras can be programmed freely in the software and configured by the user. During the inspection process the camera pictures are evaluated one after another after the radio cover has been indentified (OCR*).
The test result is displayed on the screen for control purposes. In case of an error the picture taken is displayed on the monitor, showing the error and the missing or wrong key is reported to the host.
The parameters of the single measuring positions are set using a trackball.
