Presence of all clips after robot assembly

After the injection molding process of different instrument carriers for passenger cars, the fully automatic assembly of approx. 90 add-on parts (clips, snap-on nuts, buffers, etc.) is carried out with an articulated arm robot.

The image processing system ensures the presence and correct assembly of all components. The images are captured with stationary cameras from different angles with individually switchable illumination. A clear viusalization of all inspection results is created for each component and displayed for manual rework in the case of NOK parts.

The inspection results are stored traceable and redundant for traceability to the individual component.

Task:

  • Existence
  • Positioning
  • Correct assembly of all attachments (cipse, snap nuts, buffers)

Technical data:

  • Inline system with operator terminal
  • Integration in automatic robot assembly system
  • 6 stationary GigE cameras with switchable illumination (incident light)
  • communication with system PLC via ProfiNET
  • automatic dummy test with verification part possible
  • redundant data storage on NAS drive
  • visualization with ZU-Control software
  • cycle time approx. 5.0s per component
