In medical analyzes diverse transparent support materials for manual or automatic inspection and evaluation are used with image processing.
To do this, the purity of the carrier materials consisting of glass or plastics is crucial for reproducible results.
Ziemann & Urban delivered a complete system for inspection and handling of the examinees.
The system is a customer specific adaption of the proven flexible Chip Mounter FCM4080.
The presented Vision system inspects the bottom of 8x plastic carrier strip for inclusions in the plastic, scratches, streaks and dirt.
Furthermore, 2x2" benefit- glass support with up to 400 individual elements are inspected in the same with an XZ cross table.
These are glued in the mentioned carrier strip after a special treatment. The result of the implantation is measured with an automatical optical inspection again.
The inspections are realized with a specially designed, temperature-compensated LED background light and a coaxial lighting.
The imaging is done with a high-resolution megapixel cameras with telecentric lenses.
The smallest detectable fault of this application is approx. 20µm x 20µm (larger measurement resolution possible with different cameras)
The camera and lighting unit moves automatically from test position to test position .
The vision system software also controls the overall sequence of events including the traversing movement and performs the communication with a master controller via TCP/IP.
