ZU-Vision is a fully automatic Vision system for rotational position detection of raw casted aluminum rims.
The wheels are presented by a robot to the measurement position.
The system detects the rotational position of the rim in relation to the nominal valve position with a CCD camera an several light systems.
The result is transferred to the robot over a serial communication interface.
Detecting the rotational positions and positions is tolerant to cast supernatants and dirt as well as changes in the color of the rim.
The valve position can be determined irrespective of the presence of the valve dome using the measurement of the spokes and mounting holes to each other.
