Entry sills for premium cars are more and more often equipped with lighting.
For some models, the door sill trims can even be customized.
In addition, there are often small series or special models with their own lettering and lighting.
Also and especially because of the high quality vehicles in which the door sill trims are used, the quality requirements are high.
In order to enable a 100% inspection even for smaller and often changing product types, a mobile manual test station with exchangeable fixtures and electrical contacting is used in the presented case.
The uniformity of the illumination and the positioning of the lettering in the part are tested.
The strips are inserted into a manual drawer and controlled with intuitive contacting.
After closing the drawer, the test is performed in the light-tight booth to ensure a reproducible environment.
There are a total of 5 cameras in the inspection booth to evaluate all relevant areas on the sill panels, which are up to 1000mm long.
The cameras can be moved manually and are set to the respective target positions via markings when the product is changed.
The component images themselves can be changed quickly.
The inspection results are stored traceable to the individual part for the last 100 production days on redundant drives.
Solution:
- Stand-alone test cell made of aluminum system profiles, rollable
- manual drawer for parts insertion
- manual quick contacting of the entry strips adapted to customer plugs
- component fixtures can be quickly exchanged for different component types
- documentation of test results on redundant RAID drive
