The automatic test equipment measures and inspects 7 different kinds of zylindrical molybdenum pins (diameter 1.5
mm, length 1.5 mm), which are necessary for diode production.
The pins are transported from a bunker via a feeder bowl and a linear conveyer to an index wheel for separation. With the help of an intelligent IdentCamera, parts lying inaccurately on the linear feeder will be blown back directly into the feeder bowl.
At five different positions on the index wheel, the pins are tested using four vision systems and two laser sensors.
The laser sensors measure planarity of both end walls of the pins.
The four cameras test diameter, edges and surface regarding correct dimensions and defects.
In order to perform surface control and diameter measurement two separate vision system computers are integrated.
The four integrated vision systems are standard applications based on the ZVIS2400 series.
An additional fifth computer controls the complete process and the laser sensors.
